Scott Mitchell, widow of the late Dame Barbara Windsor, has been announced as an ambassador for dementia charity Alzheimer's Research UK.

Windsor was praised for raising awareness by publicly sharing her dementia diagnosis in 2018 and Mitchell, who'll run the Vitality Big Half for Alzheimer’s Research on August 22, commented 'Barbara felt like a friend to everyone even if they’d never met her, so to have someone like her being so open about her diagnosis made others feel comfortable to do the same. That’s an incredible legacy and one I’ll continue in her memory with immense pride'.
